Warm Hands, Warm Heart - All Dressed Up

It's time for a new challenge at All Dressed Up Challenge Blog and my choice of digis to use is
Warm Hands, Warm Heart. This is a perfect card for me to do at this time of year because where I live, it takes a little more than a cup of hot chocolate to keep my hands warm.  Brrr.... it's cold here so I stay inside most of the time.  Not much for snow but the temps are way too cold.
My brain was very tired as I did this card... so much activity and card making before Christmas that it seemed like it was very hard to think of anything so I kept it quite simple.
The theme at the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog  is always Anything Goes with the only rule to enter being you use an All Dressed Up image.  If you don't have any, they can be can either be purchased at the All Dressed Up Etsy Shop or downloading one of several cute freebies offered on the blog.

Stampingbella - Snapshots

Hi there and I hope all is well with you.  I see I have a few new followers but cannot find out who they are because my followers list does not show from newest to oldest so if you are one, leave me a comment and I will follow you back.
For today's card, I thought I would try something different and thought a monochrome card would be a big change.  I have always liked that style but wanted to use my new Stampingbella polaroid images and I thought sepia tones would go well with the photo theme.  I used to have one of those cameras and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread... imagine having instant photographs.  Seems a little silly now with the ease and quality of digital but it was very advanced technology (or so I thought) at the time.
I don't ever do cards like this but it turned out to be surprisingly easy using just the E series in Copic markers.  It was actually quite relaxing because I had about 10 different shades of colours to use and there was none of the 'should I match the flower colour to her dress colour'... don't know if everyone does that but I can get a little obsessive about it!
I made a mistake when I ordered my stamps, thinking I had bought the corresponding die for these stamps but I did not so I had to manually trim them (yikes!).  My mistake actually turned out pretty good because I had purchased the stamp which is the outline of a polaroid instead of the die and now I can make whatever I want into a fun little snapshot which will be great when doing up mini albums.  The background of the snapshot was made by smudging in E43 and E40 by applying individually to a watercolour brush containing alcohol... hahhahah... not booze, just some rubbing alcohol.
Thanks for stopping by.  I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season.  For 2018, I wish good health, happiness and peace for all of us.  Oh yes... with some prosperity thrown in for good measure.
Copics:
Background - I filled a watercolour brush with 70% Isopropyl rubbing alcohol and coloured the brush end with E40 and smudged it in, then repeating with E44.  I tried not to apply too much because the E44 seems so dark but overall, I am happy with the look of it.

Tags - Stampingbella

Hope you are well and almost or are ready for Christmas.  Fingers crossed, I think I am nearly there.
Today's post is a couple more tags I made with my newest Stampingbella images and I've used  The Walrus the Polar Bear and the Penguin for the round one and  Rita and the Reindeer for the other.
The tags are fairly large as far as tags go, especially the rectangle one which is 5 1/8" x 3".  That's for a BIG present!
I found a couple new products and quite like them.  The first is Ranger's Snowflake Tinsel and I love it... it's got flecks of off white powder and then wee circles of glitter.  I have to do some reading on this because I had trouble getting the glitter to stay on so there must be a trick to it.  I thought heating it from the bottom would do the trick but no.  The other is Wow's Diamond White Embossing Glitter and it is so pretty... little bits of silver powder.  I actually added little pinches of that to the round tag after most of the Snowflake Tinsel fell off.  Maybe you just need to have a lot of the powder on so the tinsel has something to grab.
That's it for me today but have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for stopping in!

Christmas Pooch - All Dressed Up

Today is the blog release day for four brand new digi stamps from All Dressed Up and each is cuter than the last.  I was given Christmas Pooch to showcase for the launch.  For this image, I flipped the mistletoe sideways from it's original position and then was good to go.  I never quite know what to do with animal fur so I went back to the tried and true dotty shading and in the cartoon world, I suppose it looks like fur.
Be sure to zip on over to the challenge blog and check out what the rest of the team did with the pretty images.

Squidgy Tags - Stampingbella

I have been busy making tags but these are not for Christmas but I thought maybe a birthday or any gift.  I always get a charge out of these funny Squidgy Kids from Stampingbella and we all know a wee one who has these little tantrums or shall we say, moments when they 'asserts themselves'.  Most of them do it or try to... they have to test the waters, so to speak.
For this little box, I used the instructions and pattern from Sandie's Tag Box tutorial on Stampingbella.  I made a couple of small changes but it's a great tutorial and she even has the file for Silhouette users.
I made six tags and used the small image from Screamy Suidgy, Grumpy Squidgy, and The Squidgy Who Couldn't.  I used bits of sentiments from those sets plus the 'I Simply Cannot' is from The Chicks Who Couldn't Even.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good week.

Shaker Tags - Gerda Steiner Designs

First off, apologies for the 'squeezed in' pics but the photo box I use is very small which is why the edges show.  I did need them to stand up because the glare from the acetate puts all sorts of shine where it shouldn't be.  The colours on the top photo are more true than the lower one but that's what the angle change did.  Not sure why the reindeer colour looks so dark because they are much lighter.

I enjoyed making these but they were so fiddly with creating and cutting all the die layers but in the end, I'm happy enough with them and they will make a nice tie on for gifts.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good week!
